Lieutenant Governor Ken Ard's Bridging Generations Award

The Lieutenant Governor’s Office is proud to announce the “Lieutenant Governor’s Bridging Generations Award” starting in the 2011-2012 academic year. The award will provide eighth grade students a chance to expand on their knowledge of English writing skills, South Carolina History, and Health. Having students understand the importance of South Carolina history and health are key components for being successful South Carolinians.

Bridging the gap between generations in the state helps both the young and senior population. Students learn about the past, while leading older South Carolinians into the future. The award incorporates many subjects of their curriculum and allows them to showcase what they have learned.

The award will be presented at three different levels. There will be a school winner, a county winner, and a state winner. The Lieutenant Governor’s Office will announce the county winners during the spring semester and will award the state winner at the State House.

More information is available at the BGTIME website. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Lieutenant Governor’s Office at 803-734-2080.
