GE Healthcare Expanding Its Florence County Operations

Columbia, S.C. – GE Healthcare is expanding its existing magnet resonance imaging (MRI) components production operations in Florence County. The new $40 million capacity expansion is projected to create 100 new jobs. 
Headquartered in Chicago, Ill., GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric company (NYSE: GE), is a leading provider of medical and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, drug discovery, biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and more. Located at 3001 West Radio Drive in Florence, S.C., GE Healthcare will be expanding its production of MRI components to accommodate several new products in the company’s portfolio. This existing 500,000-square-foot facility specializes in designing, manufacturing and testing the superconducting magnet components of the system.
